essensys supporting the BCA at the House of Commons

February 14th 2012 in News

essensys CEO Mark Furness last week attended a House of Commons reception in support of the Business Centre Association’s (BCA) Empty Property Rates (EPR) campaign.

The BCA is calling on the Government to reinstate the EPR threshold to £18,000 RV and to introduce an exemption period of three years for all new speculative and refurbished property developments.

Politicians from all major parties expressed their support for the BCA’s campaign at the reception, which was attended by over 50 MPs and flexible space operators from around the UK.

Jennifer Brooke, BCA Executive Director, said:  “Business centres are playing a vital role in the UK economy by supporting more than 40,000 SMEs and start ups. The benefits of raising the EPR threshold would far outweigh the costs, as it would lead to job creation, incentivise investment and stimulate growth which has come to a standstill since the threshold was reduced.”

Full details of the reception can be found here. Please join the petition to raise the EPR here.

A great press week for essensys

February 6th 2012 in News

Last week was a great press week for essensys. In addition to coverage in the Yorkshire Post, essensys was featured in two of the ICT industry’s foremost publications, Comms Business and Comms4Business.

The articles detail essensys partnership with Inspire Bradford Business Park, Europe’s largest straw bale building, and outline the reasons essensys came out top when the time came for Inspire Bradford to choose their technology solution.

Tony Holdich, Chief Executive of Inspire Bradford, said “What set essensys apart from its competitors was its ability to deliver superfast, flexible services… via a cloud computing platform, which meets with the green credentials of the business park perfectly as cloud computing is proven to be more energy efficient than regular network servers, as it eliminates the need for a server room and the hefty air conditioning equipment associated with keeping these rooms at the correct temperature.”
